Imperial Japanese Navy - Task Force Teizō - Aug 1st 1912
BRIEFING
SITUATION
At approximately 0900 Jul 30 an intense meteor storm commenced, effecting areas across the globe. At approximately 2200 Jul 31 a significant meteor impact was detected in the Yellow Sea in the region of 39°21'43 N 123°42'27.
Imperial General Headquarters, at the behest of Emperor Taisho, have ordered the Ministry of the Navy to investigate.
Due to the fragile situation in Japan following the death of Emperor Meiji, as well as current political realities with the Republic of China and the German Empire, the Ministry of the Navy has decided a large fleet action is impossible in this region.
As such, a single protected cruiser, the Tone, will be detached from the 2nd Fleet to conduct the investigation. Captain Nishida Teizō of the Tone will oversee operations.

All effort will be made to avoid conflict with naval vessels of the Republic of China and the German Empire.
